WEBSITES WCAG 2.1

The obligation to ensure digital accessibility applies to all already existing and newly created websites and mobile applications by public entities.

Why must there be WCAG?

Public entities are obliged to comply with the Act of April 4, 2019 on digital accessibility of websites and mobile applications of public entities. This means that they must comply with the WCAG 2.1 Standard, i.e. Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. It is a standard published by the W3C organization that contains a set of rules that should be followed by web developers to make their websites as accessible to people with various disabilities as possible.

All websites and mobile applications owned by public entities should be digitally accessible to citizens with disabilities. This means meeting the requirements of an appendix table to the act. The table is equivalent to WCAG 2.1 standard at AA level, excluding live captioning.
